Good Morning, my Beautiful Sister. Yesterday, was my first Toastmaster’s meeting. As new members, we’re to create an “Ice Breaker” introducing ourselves to the group. Well, this morning as I contemplated, before rising from bed, my thoughts went to my mother, then to me and then to my daughters. Finally, they took me to a place in time (several months ago) when I was talking with my grandson, Mackey (we were playing with TAPN2U cards), and he shared with me the Seven Habits of a Child. (I didn’t know there was such a guideline :-)) We went to the computer, I googled it, found a site and printed it out. When I read it, it amazed me how these Seven Habits of a Child is the way to live LIFE (however you define LIFE to be).
Retrieving my black & white copy, from my silver-plated case, I place the print on my office desk within eyesight, so that I may use this platform and share it with you: Here Goes:
Habit #1: Be Proactive: Owning responsibility.
Habit #2: Begin with the End in Mind – Have the Intention…
Habit #3: Put First Things First (Prioritize) Mine are God first, Family second, Career third (Learned this one from when I was a Mary Kay consultant).
Habit #4: Think Win/Win: Everyone can win. Balancing courage for manifesting wants with Consideration for the wants of others. Team work makes the Dream work.
Habit #5: Seek first to Understand, then to be Understood.
Habit #6: Synergize: Together is Better. Valuing Self & Others.
Habit #7: Sharpen The Saw. Having time to care for self, time with family and friends, learn and serve.
Hummm, come As a Child, sounds familiar to me. Does it to you???
