Wow!!! God is so Good!!!

I was speaking with a claimant about an hour ago. We were taking about how I could listen to a recording that we were going to, but decided not to, use at the hearing on Monday. I suggested to see if he could email it to me. We ended our telephone talk so he could see if he could send it to me that way. He called me right back and said he was able. I went onto my email account (hadn’t thought about emails – actually, I was working on a project off line) to extract the recording to give a listen.

As I’m listening to the recording, something (we know what that is) lead me to scroll down my emails. As I’m scrolling, I come across an email alert from DTE. I open it up, and it’s a message letting me know that my request to have my electric/gas shut off today was going to be complete by 5pm TODAY.

I finish my convo with the claimant and immediately call DTE. When I get through, the recording sez that due to the high volume of calls, calls aren’t being answered right away. I think it even said something to the effect to leave a message. Well, you know I wasn’t gonna leave a message because I had to take care of this right away. As I’m on hold, I say to myself that I just know I won’t be on the phone long, because God’s gonna get me through to have this taken care of.

Only a minute or two passes and I’m connected with a Rep. I explain my situation to her and she first assures me this will be taken care of, then she proceeds to ask me if I wouldn’t mind holding, because she wants to get help from her supervisor to make sure everything will be okay.

After about 5 minutes or so, she comes back on and says that all is taken care of. I ask her if I need a confirmation number or anything, because the email stated that there was no need for me to be home; the technician can shut service off without speaking with me. She again said all is well. Of course I thanked her profusely for her help and we ended our call.

About 20 minutes ago, I’m at my computer and hear a knock at the door. It’s the DTE technician! He was asking if service was needed at this address. I explained what happened; we both smiled and bid our Good day to each other.

We, the Rep and me concluded someone called in and gave an incorrect address. (I know, the books say I should say the Rep and I, but when I was in business school over 30 years ago, our instructor taught us that Rep and I was actually incorrect. The correct way to express me and someone else is the person first {the subject} then me {the object}; and that’s the way Judge Judy sez it when she refers to she and Byrd…she sez “Byrd and me”.)

1) I followed my intuition and took a stroll through my email, finding the DTE shut off notice.

2) I was connected with a Rep almost immediately after dialing the number, in spite of the fact the recording indicated an extended wait period.

3) The DTE technician knocks on my door. He had a ticket to shut off the electricity. Contact with me wasn’t needed for him to complete the ticket order.

God is so very Good!!! Good Lookin’ Out…TYF!!!
