Talk then Listen or vice versa

As Kenny Rogers once sang…”Know when to fold’em, know when to hold’em”, it’s so Good to know when to talk then listen, and when to listen then talk (if we need to).  Our minds are already filled with all kinds of sugar plums, whirls and twirls, with dreams and interference from nightmares.  I’m reminded of a poetic piece I’d written some years back…The Agenda of my Mind; in it reads “no wonder sleep evades me like the brilliant red rose among the weeds”.

The Agenda of our Minds – rarely is it silent to receive or still to take heed.  This daily Thought Massage:  Just for Today, let’s listen…shhhh, do you hear it???  You may hear the sound of your heart beat or something nice and sweet to aspire you to inspire you with an idea all your own.

3 simple ways to quiet our mind:

  • In a quiet space, have a seat and be comfortable
  • Take 3 deep breaths from the diaphragm (inhale & exhale) and just listen to the beautiful sound of your breathing
  • Light a candle and for about five minutes watch the flame.

That’s it…7 minutes tops, you’ve had the chance to quiet the Agenda of your Mind.

Shhh, do you hear it???
